Soft Pastels
Fast and loose by nature, pastels bring bold color and lots of movement to a piece.
Oil Paintings
Classic and full of depth, these take time to make and they’re worth every minute.
Watercolors
These take planning and intention, but done well they’re elegant and classy.
Want an original
that’s original to you?
Consider a commission.

What kind of commission are you interested in? I’m sentimental, and I know how important connections and memories are.
I specialize in:
landscapes (like a scene from a special vacation, or the place you went on your honeymoon, or the family farm)
meaningful homes (like Grandma’s House, the first home you lived in together, etc.)
watercolor family and wedding crests
Floral still life paintings of your wedding bouquet
And more! Reach out with your ideas. Consultations are FREE.

Typically commissions take about 3-6 weeks once I start them. Timing depends on how busy I am and how complex your painting is.
Oil paintings dry slowly by nature. They take at least a few of weeks to be dry enough to transport by mail.
Both shipping (extra cost…usually $10-$30, depending on size and kind of painting) and free local pick up are available.

Each artist has their own style. I work hard on each and every painting to produce something you’ll love and that I’m proud to sign my name to.
I naturally involve my clients in the planning process, and I generally send photo updates as I work. You can help guide the painting with color schemes and more! Make sure to communicate anything on your wishlist or “no go” list.
I work primarily in landscapes and florals, though I’m open to other subjects and I try hard to be honest with myself and you regarding my ability to take on a subject.

Many people enjoy doing something extra with the image once they get their commission.
Options include (but aren’t limited to):
greeting cards with your special vacation scene as the image
Duplicate art prints or printed canvases to gift to others (example: getting prints of Grandma’s House for all the grandkids).
A flag with your family crest
Coffee mugs, tote bags, etc. If you’re interested, ask for available options!

I try hard to be very fair in my pricing, particularly when it comes to additional charges. (I try to treat you like I’d want to be treated!)
Human figures are more complex, and I generally paint them without detailed faces. I’m not the artist you want if you require lifelike portraiture. I DO include humans (and animals) in my work, but they are generally simplified, painted from the back, at a distance, etc.. Because human forms are more complex and require quite a bit more time and skill, I sometimes charge a small additional charge for people. (Whether I charge it depends on how much extra work the addition adds.) Extra charges start at $15.
Changes and additions to your inspiration photo. I’m open to editing your inspiration photo, and a small amount of editing is assumed and included in the standard cost. If you want significant things added to your painting (like Grandma’s old Bronco added to the front driveway of her house), or things like trees added, it will add additional cost. Additions might not seem like much, but it’s often hours of extra work due to the extra drawing/painting, detail work, adjusting the size and perspective of the item, shifting shadows and lighting, and editing the surrounding objects to accommodate for the addition. Extra charges start at $45.
Perspective shifts to your inspiration photo. If I need to do things like rotate the house so you see it from an angle different from the photo, I change extra. Similar to above, this adds considerable time to the project. Contact me for pricing.
Significant changes to your painting once I’ve already started. This does not include changes we decide on together when I send you a photo of your painting-in-progress and ask for your opinion on something. It also does not include minor shifts in your painting while in progress. This charge is more for things like, “I thought I wanted a large tree there, but I changed my mind,” after I spent an hour painting the tree and as it will take another 30 minutes to paint it out.
Me sourcing/creating your image from scratch. My pricing assumes you’re providing an inspiration photo that I can duplicate. I’m more than happy to fulfill requests like, “can you paint a pretty garden with a gate,” but if I have to create the image from scratch, it is an extra charge. Pricing varies.
I’m more than happy to chat about your project before you send a downpayment. I’d much rather us both be on the same page and happy! Please reach out via my contact page to discuss any aspects (prior to or during the painting)!
